“Metamorphic Threads” is a playful, experimental, and sculpturally dynamic exploration of transformation, expressed through the medium of knit textiles. This project has been both an introspective and extrospective journey, reflecting on personal and universal processes of change.
The transformation is divided into three stages: cocooning, breaking out, and acceptance. Each stage is represented by a unique look, focusing on the interplay between movement and materiality. The garments are designed to embody the essence of each transformative phase, capturing the dynamic shifts in form and structure.
Inspired by the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly, coastal erosion, and volcanic eruptions, this project delves into the physical changes and energy required for transformation.
